The Boston City Council voted 12-0 last week to demand the reopening of Gov. Maura Healey’s Haitian hotels.

Granted, the Council is not a serious deliberative body, and never has been.

And this was merely a “resolution” – which the hacks usually pass to congratulate some old-timer on turning 100, or to commemorate some community advocate’s unbroken half-century on the public dole.

But still, to demand even frivolously that the city and state“Provide Emergency Shelter for Displaced Former Haitian Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Holders” seems insane, even for the virtue-signaling, unemployable comrades up on the fifth floor of City Hall.

It’s been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. It’s also said that those who do not know history are doomed torepeat it.

"It’s been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Or at least to get elected to the Boston City Council.

Maura Healey just squandered $4 billion in taxpayer funds on these foreign freeloader flophouses. And now these same entitled Third World grifters have their hands out again.

How would another multi-billion-dollar welfare boondoggle turn out any differently than the previous one, which was such a disaster that even regime-controlled media in Boston were unable to cover it up?

The Council’s resolution last week addresses the Haitians’alleged “immediate humanitarian needs’’ – meaning even more welfare, in addition to “emergency shelter.”

The proposed services would “include Haitian Creole language access, culturally responsive case management, legal referrals, employment assistance, health care coordination, transportation and support securing permanent housing.”

I think a saner, more cost-effective way to deal with the end of Haitian TPS would be for Homeland Security to pay an unannounced “workplace site inspection” visit to City Hall.

You know, like they do at construction sites and Home Depots.

The nice ICE Americans could demand that Mayor Wu produce the required I-9 documents for all the local “residents” that she’s given phony-baloney hack jobs to. A lot of those I-9s are probably expired now that Trump has ended the Haitians’welfare gravy train.

Such a long-overdue crackdown would make for a great photo-op, dragging the illegals out of City Hall for their long overdue trips home back to Port au Prince.

It might also mean that Hyde Park Avenue eventually becomes less of a shooting gallery than it has been these past couple of months…

But instead of ending the crime wave in Ward 18, the city wants to reopen the “Healey hotels.”

Before the “residents” of the so-called shelters were funneled into other taxpayer-funded free rides and handouts, the state was forced under public-records law to release thousands of pages of incident reports from the Healey hotels.

Until last week, I never thought I’d have to dip into those dismal public records again.

But since the Boston City Council has raised the issue, let’s take another look at what the taxpayers got for the Democrats’ $4 billion Haitian vacation infatuation.

All dialogue taken directly from the reports of Healey’s own bureaucrats in 2024 (before they stopped reporting the horrors):

Page 1398: “The non-resident’s children were making a mess so the housekeeper asked them why they had to throw trash on the floor. (Redacted) replied by calling the housekeeper the ‘N’ word.”

P. 1407: “A Hildebrand staff was used to translate with the client. The client became escalated and was screaming at the Weekend Supervisor, shaking her butt… the police were called to assist. When police asked her to leave the site she threw herself on the ground and (had) what would best be described as a tantrum. The police called an ambulance.”

P. 1414: Drunk Haitian “was slurring his words, laughing and using hand gestures. He was belligerent towards staff. He was intoxicated.”

P. 1420: “Heard a loud scream.”

P. 1425: “Room has foul odor… Mom is expecting a third child. Partner not the father of the (redacted) year old.”

P. 1428: “She couldn’t get in the room because husband was so violent wrecking things and yelling so she got a security guard… The husband was arrested and is now involved with Immigration Services.”

P. 1444: “The interpreter did note that he didn’t feel comfortable translating some of the things she was saying about her daughters as they were highly inappropriate for a mother to say about her children.”

P. 1446: “(She said) her life was better in Haiti and she didn’t come here to be a maid.”

P. 1449: “Children of HOH (head of household) broke into a unit and destroyed/trashed the unit. The kids tore down curtains, pushed over dressers and threw cleaning powder everywhere.”

P. 1469: “Client’s dog (large-breed pit bull) charged at us, making physical contact with CM (case manager) and then attempting to lunge at this writer.”

P. 1472: “At 10:45 AM, the fire alarm for the building began to go off. The fire was a result of food burning on the stove. HOH stated that she fell asleep as she was cooking.”

P. 1475: Haitian woman complains about security: “When asked to identify the specific individuals, she was unable to do so accurately, describing them as short and Caucasian, which did not match any of the security team members.”

Doesn’t that sum it all up? Celebrate diversity.

Now, $4 billion later, the Boston City Council wants to restart all these wonderful taxpayer-funded Haitian vacations.

What could possibly go wrong – again?
