Gov. Healey’s latest jaw-dropper
Gov. Maura Healey says the darnedest things.
Her latest jaw-dropper came last week, when she gushed to local Democrat radio:
“Everybody in this state, when you have a baby, you’re going to have a visit within days, weeks, and that will be an opportunity for a healthcare provider to make an assessment to see if you need some additional support and resources.”
A health care provider will make an assessment. Got that, comrades? What could possibly go wrong?
After her Orwellian comments went viral, Maura’s flacks lamely pointed out that the word “voluntary” had appeared in the sixth paragraph of her press release.

But grinning in front of the cameras, she had mentioned nothing to her cheerleading fluffers about “voluntary.”
She’s a Democrat, after all. Everything that is not prohibited is mandatory.
Maura yesterday blamed the controversy on “MAGA” and “Fox” but not on herself. Which is typical.
Today, let’s consider some of Maura Healey’s other well-known statements, all of which are on tape if Mike Minogue would like to make them into ads.
In 2020, during the bloody rioting and looting after the death of George Floyd, she shrugged it all off.
“Yes, America is burning. But that’s how forests grow.”
In 2016, the legislature was considering a “bathroom bill” – to protect women from being assaulted by transvestite males in ladies’ restrooms. Maura brushed off the women’s concerns.
“To them, I say if you’ve got that much of a problem, hold it!”
In 2022, running for governor, again on National Panhandler Radio, she bragged (unprompted) about banning affordable natural gas from coming into Massachusetts.
“Remember, I stopped two gas pipelines from coming into this state.”
(When confronted with that statement this year, she first denied saying it. Then, after learning that there was videotape, she came up with a new alibi, which can be summed up as “Trump! Trump! Trump!”)
In 2022, as the COVID hysteria finally subsided, she talked about how much she had enjoyed the worst public health fiasco and mass panic in history:
“I certainly am grateful for my opportunity to have worn a mask during COVID.”
Maura, who is 55, used to live in Charlestown with her Sapphic soulmate, Gabrielle Wolohojian, a state judge who is now 65.
They broke up and now Maura shares a love nest in Arlington with a much younger woman, Joanna Lydgate. Joanna, 20 years younger than Gabrielle, used to work under Healey in the AG’s office.
As soon as Maura became governor, a career payroll patriot on the Supreme Judicial Court (SJC), David Lowy, suddenly got a $509,205-a-year job at UMass, which will more than double his hack pension. (He’s now 66.)
Lowy’s new hack job at ZooMass meant his no-heavy-lifting slot at SJC could be filled by the new governor. After a nationwide search, Maura selected her wrinkly scorned gal pal.
Here’s how Healy rationalized giving that sweet $226,187-a-year sinecure to her dumped ex-girlfriend:
“My personal relationship with Judge Wolohojian should not deprive the people of Massachusetts of an outstanding SJC justice.”
Maura’s new heartthrob, who is described in press releases as “First Lady,” now makes $461,512 a year at something called “States United Democracy Center.”
Not bad – before she officially hooked up with Maura, Joanna was making $136,500 a year working under Maura in the AG’s office.
As soon as she became governor, Healey began welcoming hordes of unskilled, non-English-speaking Haitians to Massachusetts. She quickly squandered $4 billion on the Haitians’ gold-plated welfare packages, as local aid for cities and towns dried up.
The “Healey hotels” became magnets for horrific crime and dysfunction. After one of her Haitian “neighbors” raped a disabled underage girl in the Kingston flophouse, Healey had this to say:
“It is unfortunate that from time to time things happen.”
In other words, nothing to see here, folks, move along.
Maura is obsessed with “sustainable” energy, which of course is neither sustainable nor reliable. Like wind power. You know, those crazy turbines in the ocean that keep breaking up and washing up on pristine Cape Cod and Nantucket beaches.
Maura even mentioned wind power again yesterday at her gas-tax-cut press confernce. But this is what she said last year, about the time the broken turbines began polluting the shoreline:
“We have the Saudi Arabia of wind right off our shore.”
The Houthis can take the Saudi Arabia of oil off line. It’s God who takes our “Saudi Arabia of wind” down.
The Democrats love snitch hotlines. It’s a great way to turn people and groups against one another – a staple of Democrat politics since Jim Crow days.
Maura may have been the first Democrat to set up a taxpayer-funded snitch line, back in 2016, after Trump won the first election. She figured her hysterical constituents could call in alleged hate crimes by bitter clingers and deplorables:
“People have rights. Those rights are to be protected.”
Sadly for the Democrats, most of the reported “hate crimes” by MAGA types turned out to be hysterical fabrications. Trump supporters soon began calling in to Maura’s hotline and… that was the end of Massachusetts’ first (but far from last) snitch line.
Next, as the number two hack in her Springfield office, Maura hired a career criminal named Lamar Cook. Cook will be back in court this morning charged with sending 18 pounds of cocaine to the governor’s own personal office (Suite 300) on Dwight Street.
Did Maura know that her pal Cook had a criminal record dating back to 2001, when he was arrested for an alleged drive-by shooting which shows up in a newspaper story if you just google his name?
“In terms of the ongoing investigation, we can’t say more at this time… I’m not allowed to say anything more….”
Good call Maura. Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
